Excelsior Springs, known for its rich mineral water heritage, is gearing up for its highly anticipated annual extravaganza: Waterfest! This two-day festival, hailed as the city's largest event of the year, promises an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors alike. With an array of activities, like live entertainment, delicious food, and vibrant displays, Waterfest is set to captivate attendees on June 23 and 24, 2023.

The heart of the festival lies in downtown Excelsior Springs, where Broadway Ave comes alive with more than 90 vendor booths, offering a treasure trove of arts, crafts, clothing, novelties, and unique gifts. From one end to the other, festival-goers can explore a shopper's paradise and find something special to take home. Thanks to the support of the Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, admission to Waterfest is completely free, ensuring that everyone can partake in the celebration.

Live music will permeate the festival grounds, emanating from two main stages. The Excelsior Springs Hospital Main Stage boasts an impressive lineup, featuring renowned artists like JD and the Chasers, RetroActive, Vigil Annie, and Andy and the Outlaws. Meanwhile, the Crescent Lake Christian Center's Good News Stage sets the rhythm with performances by Ron Richards, Randy Seedhorff and Soul Purpose, 9th Hour, and Team Xtreme. From rock to soul, there's a genre to suit every taste.

Waterfest goes beyond mere entertainment; it delves into Excelsior Springs’ intriguing history. Historic trolley tours take participants on a journey through time, immersing them in the town's mineral water legacy. These popular tours fills up quickly, so early arrival is advised to secure a seat and enjoy the fascinating narratives of the past.

Saturday morning the festival will kick off with a burst of color and energy as the Waterfest Parade winds its way through the streets. Led by celebrity Grand Marshal Rapper Mac Lethal, this lively procession showcases the community's pride and spirit. Following the parade, the Hall of Waters Circle Drive becomes a haven for automobile enthusiasts, with a dazzling display of classic cars, hot rods, and trucks in the Jones Custom Auto's Car, Hot Rod, and Truck Show. And this year, the festival is introducing a new addition – a Ladies Motorcycle Show on Marietta, offering a thrilling spectacle for all.

For the little ones, Waterfest offers exciting activities tailored just for them. Kids can hop into pedal cars and race around the Good News Stage's lot, bringing smiles and laughter to their faces. Additionally, the annual Little Miss and Mr Waterfest Contest provides boys and girls aged 4-11 with an opportunity to shine. Sponsored by Kalyn Goode's Salon, this event crowns winners who not only take home the title, but also receive a special photography session from Lani Michelle Photography. It's a chance for young ones to embrace their best selves and create cherished memories.

As the sun sets on Saturday evening, the festival atmosphere reaches new heights with an enchanting display of a hot air balloon! Thanks to the generosity of the Re/Max Simmons Team, attendees can take to the skies and marvel at the breathtaking festival views from above. It's a magical end to a weekend filled with community, excitement, and celebration.

Waterfest is a testament to the vibrant spirit and heritage of Excelsior Springs. With its free admission, it invites everyone to join in the festivities and experience the warm camaraderie that defines this close-knit community. So mark your calendars, gather your loved ones, and make your way to Waterfest – an event that will leave a lasting impression on your heat and memories for years to come.
