Public invited to free wastewater tour Nov. 16

Anyone interested in getting to know the behind-the-scenes workings of Oahu’s wastewater treatment plants is invited to join a tour on Saturday, Nov. 16, hosted by the city’s Department of Environmental Services.

Stops include Kapolei Business Park Wastewater Pump Station, Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plant and Sand Island Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The tour is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Meet at Kapolei Hale at 1000 Uluohia Street by 8 a.m. Bus pickup is at 8:15 a.m. and will return to Kapolei Hale.

There is room on the tour for 50 people. Sign up is first come, first served by calling 808-768-3454 or emailing [email protected] by November 14 to reserve a spot.

Attendees are advised to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and a hat, and wear long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, and covered shoes.
