Product Usage:Tribromoneopentyl Alcohol (RX-973) is a reactive flame retardant widely used in elastomers, coatings and foams, and is also an important pharmaceutical intermediate. It's mainly used as a reactive intermediate in high molecular weight flame retardants, and its high solubility allows it to combine very effectively with phosphorus to act as a reactive flame retardant in polyurethanes; it can be used in rigid or flexible polyurethanes to improve their flame retardancy; it can be used in combination with dibromoneopentyl alcohol to take advantage of their hydroxyl functionality.
